A New Year With The Lord
A new year is about to unfold
With new opportunities to explore
Doors will open for new experiences
New adventures with the Lord
–
Remember not the former things
The things of this past year
The Lord will do new things in us
Much more than we are aware
–
For He will make a way for us
As we put our trust in Him
And He will guide our every step
By His presence we have within
–
What God has placed within our hearts
We find we’ll be able to do
If we look for the opportunities
We’ll see the door to go through
–
We mustn’t let anything hold us back
But rise up and take our place
And be all that God wants us to be
With a fresh touch of His grace

Christian New Year’s Poem/Resolutions
How can I use the New Year
To better serve my Lord?
I’ll read my Bible every day,
And be more in accord.
I’ll find new ways to serve others;
I’ll love my neighbor, too.
I’ll focus on "give" instead of "get"
In everything I do.
I’ll forgive the people I’m mad at;
Angry feelings I’ll discard;
I’ll try to love my enemies,
Even though it’s hard.
In the new year, I’ll lift people up,
Instead of putting them down.
I’ll fill my heart with love and joy,
And never wear a frown.
I’ll let go of my worries;
I’ll put it all in His hands;
I’ll repent and try to sin less,
And obey all His commands.
These new year’s resolutions
Are difficult, at best,
But there’s something I can do each day
That will put my soul at rest:
I’ll love my Lord with all my heart,
With all my mind and soul,
And if I do that essential thing,
All the rest will be in control.

ATTITUDES TO LIVE BY
Compliment three people every day.
Watch a sunrise at least once a year.
Be the first to say hello.
Live beneath your means.
Be kinder than necessary.
Keep your promises.
Treat everyone like you would want to be treated.
Never give up on anybody; miracles happen!
Never deprive someone of hope; it may be all they have.
Pray not for things, but for wisdom and courage.
Be tough-minded, but tenderhearted.
Learn to show cheerfulness, even when you don’t feel like it.
Remember that overnight success usually takes about 15 years.
Never waste an opportunity to tell someone you love them.

I’ll use my energy never to belittle, but to uplift.
Never to devastate, but to rebuild.
Never to misguide, but to light the way,
so that all of us can stand on higher ground.
Marla Sloane, Ph.D.
In Rome many people maintain the custom of
throwing something out the window on New Year’s Eve.
What a relief to get rid of every old resentment,
every old fear, old prejudices, old notions, old ways of doing
things.

Α happy New Υear
Grant that
I may bring nο tear to any eye
When this New Year Ιn time shall end
Let it be said Ι have been the friend,
Ηave lived and loved and labored here,
Αnd made of it a happy year.
